"I would just like to take the time to send you a letter commending the actions last week of one of your security guards, Mr Lloyd Mashaba (employer #1832).

My 78 year old mom, Mrs Thomas, had her purse stolen 2 weeks ago, whilst she was shopping, and both her ID and driver’s licence were in the purse. This obviously was a most distressing thing to happen to an elderly lady.

On Saturday 7^th February 2015, Lloyd Mashaba was at work and noticed 2 men running past his station on Peter Place. He then saw some items falling out of the pocket of one of the men. Lloyd went to investigate and saw that the items were an ID book and driver’s licence, clearly not belonging to the man who had dropped it. He took note of the address at the back of the ID book and sent a friend to the address in order to deliver both items back to my mom, as he was working and could not leave his post. Unbeknown to Lloyd and his friend, my mom had recently moved from that address – undeterred, the friend went across to the neighbouring house and asked if they knew my mom. The neighbour kindly phoned my mom and the items have been returned to her.

It is so easy in this day and age to simply ignore one’s social responsibility and it would have much easier and far less time consuming for Lloyd to throw the ID book away and forget about it, but the time and consideration that he (and his friend) took to return those items to their rightful owner is most commendable and sincerely appreciated by our family. My mom has since been up to meet Lloyd and to thank him personally. I have also chatted to Lloyd on the phone and he took the time to let me know that this is how he has been trained to do his job – it is indeed refreshing to hear someone who obviously has the best interests of the community and its members at heart! A lesson that we can all learn from!"

Just after the installation, I asked for extra things to be added, which was installed within that day. My questions were not dealt with over the phone, but they came to me personally. The day + night patrol vehicles came to my home, so that we could be introduced.

The other day, I was out (not at home & early evening) had a bit of a predicament and called EC Security as I didn't feel safe. Eugene was there within minutes and made 100% sure that I was safe; and ensured my safety on the way home as he drove in front of me; as well as leaving a patrol vehicle at my premise throughout the night. "My Company had internal problems with an employee and as we are only woman in our office and I personally work late hours I felt unsafe at the office as the disgruntled employee befriended the security over the last year.

 I requested a change in the guard team at the boom gates from EC Security. Within 20 minutes of my request I was assured that the matter was handled as high priority. An hour later the area manager was at my office (16:30) to discuss the matter. I was assured of my safety and that the guards would be changed from 06:00 the next morning.

 I arrived at the office the next morning at 06:40 to be greeted not just by new guards but also the area Manager (Joseph) in the processing of training the new guards to ensure that they were 100% informed of the Business Park's infrastructure and operations.

 It is an absolute blessing to know that our safety and security are in the hands of EC Security Services, a Company that handled my problem in an efficient and professional matter.

"EC Security is new in our neighborhood (Weltevredenpark).
We had a major crisis in the area on Thursday the 28th of November 2013 due to the heavy rain and hail.
Approximately 30m of our perimeter wall was washed away, which left us at high risk (as we live alongside a vacant field river. After our Insurance company and current security service provider let us down badly...

 

we contacted EC Security. They had 2 guards at our house within 15 minutes..

 

they introduced themselves, they protected out perimeter for 3 nights despite the temperamental weather conditions the adverse safety risks. They really did provide top notch service when we were in a very desperate situation. All in all...i am completely and thoroughly overwhelmed with the efficiency and friendliness of all their staff that helped us during our crises last week. Hence, if anyone is looking for a new security service provider...these are your guys. You wont regret it =)"
